Rye Harbour Nature Reserve

Like the Hastings Country Park, we are so lucky to have Rye Harbour Nature Reserve almost on our doorstep. Apart from Dungeoness, the landscape is almost totally unique and home to some species of wildlife that you would have to go a long way to see otherwise. And it's almost free - the only cost is getting there. A nice large car park at Rye Harbour Village, hard surface paths that are largely pushchair and wheelchair friendly. Dog and cycle friendly too.

You leave all traffic behind, just the sound of the sea and the birds. Walks can vary between half a mile or five miles, it's all down to what you want to do.

Also like Hastings Country Park, there are 'Friends of Rye Harbour Nature Reserve'. I am a member and I encourage you to join as well, for a few pounds a year, you will get a quarterly news-letter and know that you are helping to keep this special place - well, special.
